To Send and Receive Files between HP and You:

Traditional FTP Client Method for Clarify, WFM or GCS Cases
			===========================================================

1. Connect (using an FTP client) to ftp.hp.com.au or 161.114.227.181

2. Log in with username "ftp" or "anonymous" and a valid E-mail address as the password

3. cd to_hpq

4. Select BINARY or ASCII transfer mode

5. put CaseID_anyfilename.ext
Where: CaseID_ is a required case number prefix beginning with either ah, 22, 23, 32 or 10 and
consisting of 9, 11 or 15 characters (including the underscore) respectively.
These numbers are assigned when you register a case with the Support Centre.

6. Repeat step 4, 5 for more files (use unique filenames with same prefix) or Exit the FTP client session

7. Notify the Engineer working the case of the filename(s) and that the transfer is complete.
It is recommended to advise your Engineer of the byte size and checksums of files for
validation purposes. Multiple files may be transferred using the same case number prefix and
   a unique filename.

If there are any concerns about security you can encrypt your files before transmission and
notify your Engineer of the decryption key using telephone or some other method.

As an alternate to the above; at step 5, a directory may be created using the CaseID as the
name (with no whitespace or underscore), change your directory to the name just created and
use your FTP client to put any files into that directory. This method does not require CaseID
prefixes to be pre-pended to file names and may be more convenient if you have multiple files
to transfer.

A Web Browser based upload mechanism is also available for convenience however, this method is
currently limited to files with sizes less than 8 Megabytes.

Access to this facility is provided at: http://ftp.hp.com.au/upload

2. Log in with the username "ftp" or "anonymous" and a valid E-mail address as the password

3. cd "to_customer/CaseID"
Where: CaseID is a valid Clarify, WFM or GCS CaseID comprised of a
            leading ah, 22 or 10 and either 8, 10 or 14 characters.
These numbers are assigned when you register a case with the Support Centre.

4. Select BINARY or ASCII transfer mode

5. get anyfilename.ext
Where: The filenames will have been communicated to you by your Engineer.

6. Exit the FTP client when finished.

The directories are not searchable so the specific filenames are required.
