IMPORTANT NOTICE

The online distribution of OpenVMS and related product patches is being migrated to the HP ITRC (Information Technology Resource Center) patch distribution site. The new ITRC patch server will allow OpenVMS customers to take advantage of many enhanced features for patch searching and distribution.

Beginning August 1, 2003, OpenVMS and related Layered Product, publicly available patches will be available from the HP ITRC web site at

http://itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

The same patches will still be available from the existing patch server in Colorado Springs (http://www.support.compaq.com/patches/) through the end of October 2003, to give customers sufficient time to update their bookmarks and make the transition to the HP ITRC web site.

ECO kits will also be available by raw FTP from (ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/).

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR BOOKMARKS AND REGISTER ON THE NEW SITE NOW

Note: if you're having trouble connecting to the ITRC site, please delete any cookies for "itrc.hp.com" from your browser and try again. Report any difficulties with or suggestions to MrVMS

    ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for DEBUG on OpenVMS Alpha V6.2. This kit
    addresses the following problems:

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU03_062 Kit:

o The ALPDEBU02_062 kit requires that the ALPY2K01_062 remedial
kit be installed first. The KITINSTAL.COM procedure was not
         checking for this.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU02_062 Kit:

o The ALPDEBU01_062 remedial kit stated that there was a
dependency on ALPLIBR07_062. This was incorrect. The
dependency is on remedial kit ALPY2K01_062. There are no new
problem fixes in this kit. If you have installed the
ALPDEBU01_062 remedial kit, you do not need to install this
         kit.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU01_062 Kit:

o DEBUG links LIBRTL.OLB into its DEBUG.EXE image. The
LIB$CALLING_STANDARD routines included can ACCVIO when trying
to walk the call chain or write to a call's invocation context
block on a corrupt stack. These ACCVIOs have now been observed
from DEBUG CALL commands from certain register frames.

In order to receive this full fix the ALPY2K01_062 kit must also
         be installed.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU01_071 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2*:

o Build the debugger against Motif V1.2-3 and provide workarounds
in the debugger for bugs which are currently fixed in Motif V1.2-4.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU06_070 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2*:

o A HELP file was not included in the ALPDEBU05_070 ECO kit.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU05_070 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2*:

o Using the kept debugger and the gui, opening the source browser
at any point and then executing the RERUN command causes an ACCVIO.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU02_070 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2*:

o On startup, DEBUG occasionally fails with an ACCVIO on some Alpha
         programs.

Problems Addressed in the ALPDEBU01_070 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2*:

o RFA, Record File Address, tables were sometimes not being
properly updated. The conditional that helped determine when
to update was depending on a variable that it assumed was static,
         but was, instead, changing dynamically.
