ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for the command procedure 'AUTOGEN.COM'
on OpenVMS VAX V5.4-1 through V5.5-1. This kit addresses the
following problems:
o On large memory systems (e.g., VAX 9000s and VAX 6000s), AUTOGEN's
calculation of the size of a system can become negative causing the
system to be unbootable. When this occurs, a warning message is not
printed in the AUTOGEN report file 'SYS$SYSTEM:AGEN$FEEDBACK.REPORT'.
The problem is caused by AUTOGEN using pages instead of bytes when
calculating the size of S0 space.
*********** IMPORTANT NOTE **********
With CSCPAT_1010 installed, a warning message is now printed in
the SYS$SYSTEM:AGEN$FEEDBACK.REPORT report file indicating that
a negative calculation has been made. However, CSCPAT_1010 does
NOT prevent negative calculations from occurring. This problem
will be addressed in a future release of OpenVMS VAX.
