ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for PKIDRIVER on OpenVMS V5.5 through
V5.5-1. This kit addresses the following problems:
o With RZ58 and other newer/faster SCSI (Small Computer System
Interface) devices that attempt to initiate Synchronous
Negotiation (SDTR), VMS can hang during system boot and Mount
Verification can loop endlessly experiencing parity errors,
phase interrupt timeouts, bus resets, and possible data
corruption.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2.
o The system crashes with an INVEXCEPTN bugcheck at boot
time when slower SCSI devices (e.g., RZ24) are run using
the PKIDRIVER.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2.
o When the PKIDRIVER tape exerciser program writes a record
with an odd number of bytes to tape the last byte
transferred contains incorrect data. This problem does not
occur if a record with an even number of bytes is written.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2.
