ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO (patch) kit exists for OpenVMS VAX V5.2 through V5.3-2. This
kit addresses the following problems:
o Immediately after a cluster state transition, a VAXcluster member
crashes with a CNXMGRERR bugcheck.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.4.
o After upgrading to V5.0 through V5.3-2, random processes hang in
the LEF state throughout a cluster or on one node.
The problem is most often seen when users share an RMS file, but
it can involve any type of resource. Typically, processes hang
in the LEF state waiting for lock requests to be granted or
converted. In a VAXcluster environment, the processes may reside
on different nodes in the cluster.
Often the problem occurs with files that are opened and closed
frequently such as SYSUAF.DAT, RIGHTSLIST.DAT, or any application
file, etc.
This problem is fixed in OpenVMS VAX V5.4.
